Mata, in my opinion is a very powerful programing interface and I appreciate it hugely. I may be wrong but is there a function in mata that can rename files? I know that using the file functions in mata (fopen fread etc) anyone can perform a host of operations in mata but renaming a file. I do not want to emulate a rename via the creation deletion process because it possibly may lead to file fragmentation and slow processing speeds.
