  • general time trend

Hi, we have a problem incorporating a general time trend in our panel data with year fixed and country fixed effects. The defendant variable is economic growth. We have tried the code c.timevar, but it doesn't work. I can send an image from our do-file.

The short story here: You have posted a question in a way that's not likely to get you much help.

Detail: New members of StataList are strongly encouraged to read the StataList FAQ. It gives various kinds of advice about posting questions that would help you. More specifically: You have accidentally posted your question in StataList's forum that concerns Stata's Mata matrix programming language, which is not relevant to your question. Your question will be much more likely to get help if you put it in the StataList General forum, which is the place that people look for questions about using the statistical procedures of Stata. A particular difficulty is that you have posted an image of your code, rather than plain text, which means that people can't very easily work with it to edit it to help you. A smaller note is that you've included some material not relevant to getting a statistical result, namely the -outreg- command, which serves to display results but isn't relevant to getting the -xtreg- command to produce results. And, last of all, saying that a command "doesn't work" unfortunately doesn't help people help you, as there are many different ways in which a command might not work. Seeing exactly how Stata responded to your command would help people know how it didn't work. Suggestions like this are part of what is described in the FAQ (dark tab at the top of your screen on StataList.)
