  • Survival model: Drawing confidence intervals around hazard function

I'm using -stcox- and I am graphing the hazard function using -stcurve, hazard-. I'm using Stata 13 for Mac.

Does anyone have a tip for how I could include lines showing the confidence interval around the hazard function? I've checked the manual, but only found advice for drawing confidence intervals around survivor functions or cumulative hazard functions.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to using this forum setting for statalist.

    Lisa,

I don't have a precise answer to your question, but see http://www.stata.com/support/faqs/st...seline-hazard/ for information on what stcurve actually does when it plots a hazard function. It involves lumping and smoothing, so I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a closed-form solution to generating confidence intervals.

    Regards,
    Joe

Thanks, Joe - appreciate your time, and that sounds right. I'll keep thinking about this.
