I am doing a meta-analysis of proportion (complication rates) using the metaprop routine/module. Most of my articles reported zero complication, so I'm using the Freeman-Tukey Double
Arcsine Transformation in order to stabilize my variance. My output showed a pooled estimate of 0.000 (confidence interval: 0.0000, 0.0070), but I was surprised that my test of ES=0 was still significant (p=0.000). Does that means will should always expect a significant result with the metaprop? or is there something else I should have done?
