Only me? Search Function not working

No matter what I enter into the search box at upper left, I get: "Please provide a search string"

Is this still happening for you? What happens if you go to the advanced search page?

We re-built the search index earlier today due to some moved topics, but that process should be finished by now. I just tried a test search for "imputation", and it worked as expected.

Steve, there are two search boxes and they might behave differently. Please let us know which one you mean. I've noticed that the one next to page index does not search for multiword content. E.g. it hides your message when OS X is entered in the search, and shows it in quotes as a single search token. Apparently the quotes become an integral part of the filter. To check this we can enter Please provide a search string (we enter it without quotes) and see the message passes the filter.



Strange but I think it used to work before. Perhaps something is going on with the forum software.

Something's screwy. The box I referred to was located at the upper left. I saw it again when I logged in just now and got the same error when I tried it.I then switched views and the only box I see now is a box at the upper right. That one works and the search results are shown as the result of an advanced keyword search. I haven't seen the box on the box on the left again even after quitting and re-logging-in.


There's also a smaller box on the right in a "post reply" screen next to the Page x of x buttons. I'm wasn't referring to that one.
