Independent Variable: positiv and negativ

Hallo,
short question:
Is it reasonable to include an independent variable into my regression that is partly positiv and partly negative. e.g. [-1,2; 2,5]
If not, what are possible actions?

People do it all the time. There is no reason a mix of signs should be a problem in itself. Whether it's a good predictor is a different question.
