  • Decision Curve Analysis for Survival Outcomes, stdca.ado file that works

    Hello Stata users,
    Does anyone have a copy of stdca.ado file that actually works?
    I've downloaded both dca.ado and stdca.ado from http://www.mskcc.org/research/epidem...curve-analysis, and the later keep giving error messages, e.g.:
    "stdca2 already defined
    (error occurred while loading stdca.ado)
    r(110);"
    The dca commands work alright, but i'm trying to use decision curve analyses for survival data.
    Best wishes

    The logical person to ask would be the author. I would phrase the question differently though. Especially, I would leave out the sentence "Does anyone have a copy of stdca.ado file that actually works?"

      Indeed, the authors are the place to start.

      Beyond that, the stdca .ado has a header that says :

      /* AMC created 13april2007 */
      /* AMC last modified 04apr2008 */

      Given the pretty massive changes since Stata 9/10, I'd try to use version control in your .do file; you might get lucky.

      If it is mission-critical, there's also an R implementation so you can try that standalone, or via -Rsource- (from SSC) inside Stata to keep a nice clean .do file.

        Hi everybody!
        I have Stata 12 for mac. I need do to a decision curve analysis for the first time but I cannot install it as a command. I followed the http://www.mskcc.org/research/epidem...curve-analysis example but I always have an error saying unrecognized command: dca r(199).
        Anyone knows what should I do?
        Thanks,
        Ilaria
