xtivreg: Balance and Placebo Tests

To examine the validity of instruments, I was told to conduct balance and placebo tests. I am able to find information on conducting balance tests in Stata for other estimation techniques, but not for IV regression or xtivreg. Can you please advise?

covbal works well for this. balance is assessed on the covariates, before the treatment.
