My research involves looking at 11 countries and how their FDI is affected by geopolitical risk. I was advised to look into trade literature as they're very similar to each other but in trade the dominant methodology is gravity model while I've been told by my advisor to avoid using it and to stick with GMM and FE/RE
Because of how prevalent it is in trade and FDI literature, can I specify which countries to focus on with a gravity model?
