  • Shortcut Key to (current) do file editor in Stata18

    Hi,
I recently started using Stata 18, and I am having troubles figuring out a shortcut key to switch to the do file editor window WITHOUT opening a new do file. I use Mac.
In Stata 17, it was just Cmd + 9. It let me switch to the current do file editor without a new do file. However, the same combination of keys in Stata 18 opens a new do file editor with a new do file.
Is there any shortcut key to switch to the do-file window tab without opening a new do file? Or is there any way to change or add shortcut keys in Stata18?

I would very much appreciate your response.

I'm using Windows version so things may be different.
    1. Go to the do-file panel toolbar, click Edit > Preferences
    2. Under the Advanced tab, check the option "First window menu item selects recent editor"
    3. Click Apply then OK
Now the short cut should be updated.

On a Mac, that option is found in Edit > Preferences > Windows > [Window] Do-file Editor > Advanced > "First window menu item selects recent editor"
