Does frlink create copy of frames under the hood?

I know that merge creates copy and sorts them which can be avoided by having your datasets sorted by the merge key. Is frlink implemented in a similar way? There is no sorted option like there is in merge and no discussion about it in the docs.

No, that’s part of the point of freshness and frlink. The created link variable indexes the rows in the source frame to maintain the connection between two frames to avoid duplication of data in memory.
