  • is there a way of knowing if i have stata/se or stata/mp2-core

hi i am using stata on a remote computer (which does not have access to a computer) and i haven't purchased the licence myself so i don't have access to the order form

is there a way of getting to know if i have stata/se or stata/mp2-core or stata/mp4-core

I have an older version stata 16.1, and the latest is stata 18.0

I need to supply the administrator the link to download the latest version of stata. However, I want to ensure I'm giving them the correct link as it's
    Stata licence: 2-user network perpetual

I'm not sure if this would be the timerberlake link:
    https://www.timberlake.co.uk/

//This one asks me for the licence ii currently have

    or the stata network link
    https://www.stata.com/order/new/bus/...work-licenses/

    many thanks

    Open Stata, and type

    Code:
    about

Yes I tried this, but this only tells me the stata licence is:
      Stata licence: 2-user network perpetual

      Nothing on : stata/se or stata/mp2-core or stata/mp4-core

That's weird. The very first line should be something like

        Code:
        Stata/flavor for OS (bit_info)
where flavor should contain the information you seek.

when I type -about-, here is part of my output:
          Code:
Stata/MP 18.0 for Mac (Apple Silicon)
          Revision 04 Apr 2024
          Copyright 1985-2023 StataCorp LLC

          Total physical memory: 36.01 GB

          Stata license: Single-user 4-core perpetual
As you can see, the first line tells me that I have MP and the last line copied (I suppressed some later lines) tells me I have 4-core license - so, I agree with daniel klein and just think you may not be correctly reading what you are shown - show more if you want help
