Hello,
I have a generalized structural equation model with three serial mediators. The first serial mediator is statistically significant. The second is not and the third is not. From my understanding it would not be possible for the third serial mediator to be significant because their isn't a large enough mediation effect by the second serial mediator. Is this correct? Is there anywhere in the literature that discusses this issue when doing serial mediation that I could cite? We are trying to decide the extent that we should report the results for the third serial mediator.
Thanks,
Sean
