  • Testing difference in survey responses within a categorical variable

I'm new to Stata, working with a large survey data set. I have a variable measuring policy support, recoded into 0=against, 1=in favor, 2=neutral. How can I test whether the difference between being against and in favor of a the policy is statistically significant?

Say your variable is called policysup, then you type:

    Code:
    proportion policysup
    test 0.policysup = 1.policysup
