  • Update problems

    I have updated to STATA 18 and keep getting the reply below every time I wish to update. Never experienced that before. Any explanations?
    Thank you!

    Assuming your internet is working, It's possible the server was down for scheduled maintenance. I'd try again later.

        #3 Not so. This is not the same issue as in #1/#2. The thread is focused on being unable to update from the Stata website.

        #3 is about updating from SSC.

        You asked essentially the same question in #6 of https://www.statalist.org/forums/for...stall-commands

        and already have some answers there. Otherwise, the last suggestion still stands. Contact StataCorp Technical Services for advice giving your licensing information.

          same here, it is not connection issue or a temporarily down website since it's been years
          . update all, force

          r(603);

          any suggestion? Has the way v18 handles the license or the admin permissions changed? Since the inception admin privileges were not required for regular updates, only when versioning changes the license file. Is it because "Stata NOW"? what is it anyways? Please keep in mind like many users i have institutional licenses and no admin control
          Thanks

            Usually I encounter that error when I either have connectivity issues (which have nothing to do with Stata) or when StataCorp presumably temporarily take the update site down while they upload new updates. Try to update Stata again, or even a couple of hours later.
