Convert long type to string

I have data containing Type-long variables that I need to convert to String.
Data in that variable is a meta instance id generated in ODK eg - (uuid:c350878b-3617-403d-8ebb-3afc700d2698)

Which command should I use to convert?

-tostring- ( https://www.stata.com/manuals/ddestring.pdf) is the command to convert a long to a string, but the example value you show couldn't be the value of a variable with type "long". A long value must be an integer.
