  • Unable to show project manager (Macbook Air M1 2020)

    Hello,

I have a Macbook Air M1 2020 running MacOS Monterey version 12.5.1. My Stata version is Stata/SE 17.0 for Mac (Apple Silicon)

I am able to create new projects. According to the Stata manual, "On Mac, the Project Manager tab in the sidebar is selected when a project is created or opened." (https://www.stata.com/manuals/pprojectmanager.pdf)

However, this does not appear for me. None of the menu options in the main menu or the do-file editor allow me to see the pane.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I cannot reproduce it on my MacBook Air M2 2022 running macOS Monterey version 12.6.1 and Stata/SE 17.0 for Mac (Apple Silicon) Revision 13 Oct 2022.

Note that in the upper right corner of my main Stata Window, there are two icons above the sidebar. The left one displays the Variables pane, the right one (folder) when clicked displays the Project Manager pane. Although in what I did, the Project Manager pane displayed automatically in response to File > New > Project.

On Stata for Mac, the Project Manager is on the main Stata window's sidebar, not the Do-file Editor. As William mentioned, it's the pane with the folder icon.

Expanding on post #3, if you open a second project, a new Do-file Editor window will open with the second project in its sidebar. So if it's more convenient to you to have the project in the sidebar of a Do-file Editor window ...
