  • Draw a stratified random sample.

Suppose I have a population with 8 divisions. Under these divisions, there are 64 districts having 333604 PSU with rural and urban and 12 city corporations having 47452 PSU.
I want to draw the 2012 PSU using stratified random sampling with the PPS technique.
How can I do this with stata command?

The community-contributed program -gsample- will do stratified sampling with PPS. See -ssc describe gsample-. To learn about installing and using such programs, take a look at -help ssc- and get into the complete PDF manual information.

Thank you Mike. Would you please write the stata commands for the above example?

Had you taken the step of providing example data using -dataex-, a norm of this list described in the StataList FAQ that new members like you are instructed to read, what you want would be possible, but it's not possible (except abstractly) without proving such information. In any event, I have not used -gsample- for your purpose before, so you're in as good a position as I am to figure out how to use it.
