Maximum likelihood factor analysis or factor analysis?

Hi,

Can anyone explain in which scenario is the maximum-likelihood factor analysis preferred over the factor analysis?

I would like to extract the factor scores to include them as dependent variables in a model. Is the maximum-likelihood factor analysis preferred?
