Dear Stata Community,
I have been looking at the power calculation options to check sample size needed. The dependent variable (DV) is measured as continuous and the independent variable (IV) is categorical (3-level). I have looked at the available options but am not sure the best approach in this. The plan is regressing to show the difference in slopes from the referent group of the IV.
The only relative option I came across was: "Test comparing the slope to a reference value in simple linear regression"
This scenario for power calculation is not as intuitive as if the independent predictor was binary and am open to the guidance of the Stata community.
Respectfully,
Doug
