Bhattacharya and Mazumder (2011) : Measure of upward mobility

Can we use the new measure of upward mobility by Bhattacharya and Mazumder (2011) for calculating Intergenerational educational mobility if we use years of schooling instead of educational categories by providing igmobil command?

I don't know if it's new considering that I was in middle school when this came out....... but I don't know, this seems like a very subject matter specific question which you'd likely want to ask .... I don't know, an economist who studies this specifically.


Anyways, this aside, you don't give data and you don't mention that the command you're using is likely user written (as the FAQ asks) so please, edit this question a little so others who might know about this can comment on it.

section 4.6 mentions the Mobility index I am talking about. I was concerned about its application if we want to capture intergenerational mobility when we use years of schooling instead of income.
