Hi,
When I follow a link from the SMCL help file to the PDF help files, my system (Win 10) opens Adobe Acrobat Pro and goes to the correct section.
However, after about a minute the Adobe login pops up. This is a corporate license and I log in with my corporate email and login. The login box goes away for about a second and then pops up again.
The corporate Adobe license is active and works fine. If I go directly to the C:\Program Files\Stata17\docs and open a manual there, no problems.
So it seems to me the interface from SMCL to the PDFs is somehow not working with whatever system Adobe Pro is using to check the Adobe license.
I wanted to post this in case others start to see the same issue.
I am trying to instead set Stata to use Adobe Reader (or an alternative PDF viewer) but cannot find any setting to do this in Stata 17 even after reading the FAQs such as this on https://www.stata.com/support/faqs/r...entation-tips/
I do not want to change from Adobe Pro for all apps (in Windows), only for Stata. I just do not see a "Preferences" menu that lists this setting.
Maybe I am just not seeing it but where in the Windows version is the setting for the PDF viewer to be used, if there is one?
Stata 17.0, Win10
Thanks,
Scott
