I have a dataset of 20,000 people of all age categories. I want to sample 700 people aged 0-69 years from the dataset matched on gender and age group of five. i.e. A case of a male aged 0-5 years should be matched with a control of a male aged 0-5 years. Secondly, i want an equal distribution of sample in each age group. i.e. each age group should have a sample of 25 cases matched with 25 controls taking into account an equal distribution of gender. Within the dataset, i have a unique identifier called idno: Any thoughts on how i should go about the task?
