Hello,
I am running a xteprobit random effects command with select specification on a panel of italian firms.
the command is : xteprobit green_patent i.network_firm i.area ln(employees) , select (patent = i.network_firm ln(R&D) ).
where green_patent is a dummy variable which is 1 if the firm create a new green patent and 0 otherwise; network_firm is a dummy variable which is 1 when the firm is in a network of firms and 0 otherwise; area is a geographical categorical variable; the patent variable in the selection equation is a dummy variable which is 1 if the firm create a new patent and 0 otherwise.
When I run this command, from the third log-likelihood iteration it appear "(backed up)" in the following iterations.
Is this normal ? What does it mean ? and how I can overcome this problem ?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Francesco
