  • Possible to make a codebook with stata version 14.2?

    Hi all,

    I know that wordcb is a useful command for creating a codebook, but I only have 14.2. I tried using the codebook command, but it is cumbersome and hard to export to excel. Is there another option that can output the variable name and basic summary statistics?

    Thank you!

    You could use htmlcb, see ssc desc htmlcb

      Thank you so much! This looks very helpful!

      However, I ran into this error and I do not know how to fix it. Googling it just says "an argument was expected to be real and it is not." What exactly does this mean? Do I need to change something in my dataset first? Thank you!

      . htmlcb, saving(test123.html)
      create_table(): 3253 nonreal found where real required
      <istmt>: - function returned error
      r(3253);

        Check out my asdoc program, which sends outputs to MS Word.
        For more flexibility, consider using asdocx which can send Stata outputs to MS Word, Excel, LaTeX, or HTML.
