Hello. I found at least one post on here stating that the e(rank) refers to the number of parameters in a model. I am wondering if this is or is not correct?
The rank of a matrix represents the maximum number of linearly independent column vectors in the matrix. In linear regression, the rank of the \(X^{'}X\) matrix thus coincides with the number of regressors including intercept in the regression.
