Hello! I was hoping to get some advice on whether using ologit/regress/poisson is okay even when violating the assumption of independent observations.
I’m trying to ascertain the effect of an educational intervention on test scores for a sample of 100 participants. I have information on pre-test scores, immediate post-test scores, and scores from tests performed 3 months post-intervention.
The immediate pre and post scores are recorded with associated subject identifiers (n=100 for each). The 3 month post-test data has only 38 observations and no identifiers, but does include sex/age/race/specialty/etc.
What I ended up doing was reshaping the data to long format, then running -ologit- predicting ConFL (1-5 score) as a function of trial (1 = pre-intervention, 2=post, 3=3 months out) and sex/age/race/specialty/discipline. I felt like this gave me the most information about the isolated effect of "trial" on the DV:
-ologit ConFL i.trial age i.discipline i.race sex i.specialty-
The other dependent variables of interest were ConFD, Overall, CancerLSS, CancerDSS, InflamLSS, InflamDSS, InfectLSS, InfectDSS, SOCLSS, SOCDSS, LSS, and DSS; was planning on doing the same analysis for each, but using either -poisson- or -regress- for LSS, DSS, and Overall since the range of possible values is much wider.
Would this approach be acceptable for a publication if I note that the assumption of independence is violated?
