  • Which test to use in Stata? Relationship Wage Gender Education

    Hello,

a very naive and at the same time simple question:

For a project in statistics where we want to investigate differences in wages by gender, we plan to answer the following question:

Does additional education (measured in years) have a differentiating effect on the wages of women and men? In other words, does a man earn more from an extra year of education than a woman from an extra year of education?

Unfortunately, my group, including myself, is not very skilled in statistics and Stata. Therefore: What kind of test can be applied and how does it work in Stata?

Our data set contains wage as the dependent variable and 7 other variables (to simplify matters, we can simply assume the variables wage, education, experience, trade union membership, i.e. reg wage educ exper union as a regression model, whereby educ and exper are given in years).

It would be great if someone could help me with this - thank you very much - and sorry for my bad English

    Best wishes
    Wilhelm

    Wilhelm:
    welcome to this forum.
This kind of queries look suspiciously related to class/home assignments.
As per FAQ they should neither be posted, nor replied.
That said, I would advise you and your colleagues to post at least a temptative solution to your question.
In addition, please note that this type of regressions may suffer from endogeneity due to latent variables.
    Kind regards,
    Carlo
