Replacing position of decimal point from lower til midline in a number

Is it possible to change where the decimal point is placed in numbers? By default it is placed in lower case position, e.g., 1.2. Can this be change to midline, e.g, 1∙2?

My guess is that you would need to do all the programming yourself.
