  • ineqdeco results

I run ineqdeco and get results only for GE(2) and Gini, no results for other GE measures. Does anybody know why and what i should do get results for MLD or Theil?

Your question really isn't clear without more detail, or at a minimum it is too difficult to guess at a good answer from what you have shared. Please help us help you. Show example data. Show your ineqdeco command and its output. It's particularly helpful to copy commands and output from your Stata Results window and paste them into your Statalist post using code delimiters [CODE] and [/CODE], and to use the dataex command to provide sample data, as described in section 12 of the Statalist FAQ linked to from the top of the page, which provides advice on effectively posing your questions, posting data, and sharing Stata output.

Be sure you are running the latest version of ineqdeco
    Code:
    . which ineqdeco

rosa mule : please check whether you used -ineqdec0- rather than -ineqdeco-. Both are on SSC. (Note the distinction between "0" (zero) and "o" (lower case o) in the names.)

-ineqdeco- calculates inequality indices (e.g., Gini, GE(alpha), and Atkinson) only for obs with positive values of the variable of interest. GE(2) and Gini are the only indices among that portfolio that are well-defined if the variable of interest takes on zero or negative values. -ineqdec0- calculates those 2 indices without excluding non-positive obs.

Thank you very much for your replies. William I am using LIS data via lissy remote so can't access data directly. Stephen thanks a lot. you took me off the hook, I did rerun the programme with ineqdec0 and it worked. Sorry about the hassle, I should have figured this out myself- must be virsus fatigue
