  • Discrete time proportional hazard model

    Hi Stata users,

I am trying to replicate the regression analysis as shown below and was wondering which Stata command would be appropriate to perform discrete time proportional hazard model regression analysis

    Thanks in advance!

There's some very clear and useful guidance at the end of Germán Rodríguez's lecture notes on discrete time models; https://data.princeton.edu/wws509/notes/c7s6

All the models he covers are very easy to estimate in Stata.

Sorry for neglecting that Stephen. I refer a lot of people to your excellent notes but forgot about them this time. A big benefit of your notes is that the Stata code is included.

              Stephen Jenkins ,
First, I would like to appreciate your guidance on how to estimate discrete time proportional hazard models in Stata in your previous post. Thank you a ton!

I am trying to replicate estimation of child mortality as outlined in the section "(c) Calculating the health index" in the attached paper. It seems they calculate household specific child mortality rate by taking the number of deaths over total number of live births. I am not sure whether your proposed commands are applicable since they are referring to household specific child mortality rates.

              Thanks in advance!

              Best,
              Stephen.
