  • Calculate risk ratio directly using two weighted prevalence estimates

    Hello all,

I have two weighted prevalence estimates and their 95% confidence intervals [0.12 (95% CI: 0.10, 0.15)] and [0.08 (95% CI: 0.04, 0.11)]. I do not have the raw data.

Does anyone know if it is possible to calculate a risk ratio/odds ratio and 95% confidence interval directly for these two estimates in Stata 14?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

    Gillian:
if you have the sample sizes, you may want to consider -help csi-.

      Dear Carlo,
Thank you for a such a prompt reply!
Unfortunately the only figures I have are the two weighted prevalence estimates and their 95% confidence intervals: [0.12 (95% CI: 0.10, 0.15)] and [0.08 (95% CI: 0.04, 0.11)].
      Kind regards,
      Gillian

        any calculations is hard, then.
The only way I can envisage is to assume different estimates for the sample sizes and present different estimates for OR and RR.
        Kind regards,
        Carlo
