Hi, this is a dumb little question, but I can't seem to find any help or any one else that is having this issue (searched archives to no avail). Appreciate any guidance people might have.
I am running STATA IC 13.1 on Windows 7 Home Premium (and Excel 2013)
When I copy and paste from excel into the editor (, which I've done a thousand times on other machines and configurations, Stata just processes for a long time and often crashes. Usually it just enters into "not responding" - sometimes, though, it will eventually stop cycling and return no observations pasted with the following message:
*(0 variable, 1093781496 observations pasted into data editor)
Note that I am not trying to post 1 billion observations into Stata, these are typically small datasets (the last one was 5 variables, 200 observations, mostly dummy variables - simple stuff).
Occasionally, though, it works! If I have no other programs running and/or have recently restarted, I can open only excel and stata and manage to get a cut and paste in and it will work fine. I can't restart my computer every time I want to run something in Stata and I am reluctant to do a whole reinstall on my system, unless that is the only solution.
Thanks in advance for your help!
