SIC codes matching

Hi, I want to match the SIC codes of the target and acquirer using SDC data (SIC codes). I already divided the SIC codes by 100 to identify industries but how do I proceed from here ?

While I have done this kind of thing many times, I don't know exactly what your problem is. What you exactly mean by match the SIC codes? Often, I will simply sort the data by SIC code and firm size or whatever, and then match them manually.

Thank you for the response. I've already been able to solve the problem by matching the sic codes of acquirer and target. However, I do have another question about CUSIP codes. When I export them from excel to stata they are gone. I would appreciate it if you could help me with this problem. I can also provide more info if needed.
