  • EPIMODELS: new Stata package for epidemiological models

Thanks to Kit Baum a new Stata package epimodels is now available for download from SSC.

Epimodels (written by Sergiy Radyakin and Paolo Verme) implements mathematical simulations of the well-established SIR and SEIR epidemiological models of spread of contagious diseases. The package allows for specifying the exogenous parameters of the epidemics and initial conditions, and then performs simulations and plotting of the results.

Many thanks for the interesting Epimodel in STATA. Great help for researchers. However, I am having a problem finding the right parameters for the model, as real data does not fit with the predicted one. I wonder if you can advise how to predict the parameters to reduce the forecast error. I would be very grateful if you can advise me on that.
All the best and stay safe,

The following blog post discusses how to approach this problem:

Thanks Sergiy for the link. However, this is in R and discusses when the epidemic is over. To the best of your knowledge , Any short cut or rule of thumb you would suggest to calibrate the model?

@Sergiy Radyakin, thank you for that package, however, the graph is not working when executing the command, it produces a blank graph, is there any way to fix this?
          thank you
