  • Dividing one column into different columns

I have a column which looks like this:
    Section (Geographical Area) Community
    Both Genders
    000000000
    1111111111
    111332902
    Males
    000000000
    1111111111
    111332902
    Females
    000000000
    1111111111
    111332902

I want to reshape my file so that the males and females occupy a separate column. How can I do that?

Please give a literal data example. We, or at least I, can't tell what is literal and what is schematic in what you show us.

Please study https://www.statalist.org/forums/help#stata and while you're visiting please look at https://www.statalist.org/forums/help#realnames too.

I recommended to you yesterday that you use the dataex command to present data.

In neglecting to do so, you ask those who want to help you to take on the extra effort of making guesses about your data. Requiring this of those whose help you seek suggests a lack of appreciation of the efforts of others and increases the chances of getting responses like this post and the one in post #2.

If that is literal, my only guess is that you have a string variable with 13 observations and can achieve what you want by copy and paste in a text editor or spreadsheet, Ofherwise put, sorry, I have no idea what you want to do here.
