  • Re: Saving row/col proportion matrix from two-way svy: tabulate (in Stata 14)

I am using PUTEXCEL to save results from svy: mean to a table in Excel. The process to this with svy:mean is straightforward, However, when I use svy:tab x y, row and want to use the row proportions 'matlist e(Prop)' lists total proportion. For example,

currently HH member age by age category
    attending (years)
    school 5-9 10-14 15-19 20-24 Total

    No .1312 .0555 .4749 .8489 .2754
    Yes .8688 .9445 .5251 .1511 .7246

    Key: column proportion

I want to use these proportions, but with matlist e(Prop), what I get is total different.

    . matlist e(Prop)
    | p11 p12 p13 p14
    -------+--------------------------------------------------------
    y1 | .04417 .0178423 .0977538 .1156334
    y1 | .2925216 .3034179 .1080856 .0205752

Does Stata save the col/row proportions in a matrix? I checked ereturn list, but unable to find one.

    Thank you.

Install estpost from SSC by Ben Jann. Its output will include one such matrix.

    Code:
    *ssc install estout
estpost svy: tabulate x y, row
