  • calculate APCs, CIs and p-values for the trend of APC using Poisson regression

    Hi everybody,

I am new to Poisson regression. And I have 20-year age-standardized incidence rates for thyroid cancer for males and females and want to calculate Annual percentage change (APC) in incidence for both genders over 3 calendar periods (1996 -2005) then (2006-2015) and finally over the entire period (1996-2015).

    data looks like this:

    year gender incidence
    1996 1 2.3
    1996 2 3.1
    1997 1 2.6
    1997 2 3.9
    ...
    ...
    2015 1 4.1
    2015 2 9.9

how could I get the annual percentage change (%) in incidence over each 10 year by gender and then over 20 year period including CIs and p-values for the trend of APC using Poisson regression

    any help is appreciated

    regards

    Jawad
