  • First Differences and Lagged Variables

    Hello Statalists,

Is it possible to take both the first difference and a lag of the same variable using the D. and L1. command, respectively? If so, in what order do they go in?

Using the Im-Pesaran-Shin test I determined my key explanatory variable is not stationary, so I have taken the first difference of it. However, I am already taking a lag of one period in order to control for endogeneity and reverse causality - is it possible to do both?

    Many thanks
    Avnish

Yes. See help tsvarlist, in particular Remark 5.
