Calculating distance between points and major roads

Good afternoon-

Is there any way in Stata to calculate distance between points with coordinates and roads? For roads I only have osm_id.

You'll increase your chances of a useful answer by following the FAQ on asking questions - provide Stata code in code delimiters, readable Stata output, and sample data using dataex.

Without a lot of information on the data etc., no one can really help you. Obviously, the answer would depend on the form of your data. If you only have a name for the road, then you've got a challenging job of getting the road data and integrating the road data with the other data. If you know the points involved (i.e., the point and the closest point in the road), then I suspect it is quite doable and has probably been programmed.
