How to Generate A Variable Equal to the Midpoint Values of Another Variable

Hi, All:

If I wanted to generate a variable that is equal to the midpoint values of another variable that has a range, e.g. income ranges from 10 to 90 thousand, how would I accomplish this? I want to code my top open variable 125% of my beginning value interval and code my new variable in units of 1,000.

Your second sentence contradicts your first, and indeed makes no sense to me, but the recipe for a midpoint is (minimum + maximum) / 2. Show us a data example and explain what you want in terms of that data example.
