Downloaded Data File, Now Want to Download Temporary Datafile Which Has Only Variables I Need

HI, All:

I downloaded American National Election Studies data and I have kept only variables I need. How do I save these variables into a temporary data file that I will use to work from? My apologies if this is a question that has already been answered somewhere on the forums.

Just click and save it as a .dta file. Then you can always open and edit it.

I should say that I want to keep the master data set, too, that has all the variables, including the ones I was interested.
