  • Stratify Sex and Age group in each location before calculate Standardized morbidity ratio

    Hi everyone,
I have total 3687 cases during 10 year study period and I got the information about SEX AGE (in 5 year age group) and Area (n=127) of these variables.
As I want to calculate the Age and sex standardized morbidity ratio in each area.
I think I should firstly make a table for each Area, which contains the number of cases stratified by sex and age group.

    like this

    Area a :
    Male Female
    0-4 years
    5-9 years
    10-14 years
    ....
    80-85 years
    over 85 years

and then I can calculate the age and sex standardized Incidence rate in each area according to the total number of population in each strata.

Does anyone can tell me what should I do to TAB these variables?
Or any other more clever ways to calculate standardized incidence rate or standardized morbidity ratio please?

    Sincerely appreciated.
    Jazz from Uni ADL.
