  • Problem with tsset command on repeatitive year series data

hello. Can someone assist me please. Am trying to set (declare) time series numbers from 1981 to 2017 for three diferent regions by using "tsset" command. but unfortunately am getting "repeated time values in sample" message. please may you help how I go about to resolve it.

First, show us your tsset code. At the simplest it may be that you are not specifying a panel identifier. The error message implies that.

I note also the FAQ https://www.stata.com/support/faqs/d...d-time-values/

To expand on Nick's comment, you'll increase your chances of a useful answer by following to FAQ on asking questions - provide Stata code in code delimiters, readable Stata output, and sample data using dataex.

With either tsset or xtset, you need to set up regions as panels and years as the time variable. If you have done that, then you must have multiple observations for the same year within a given panel. One common way for this to happen is with missing values for year.
