  • Converting tabular values into colour densities

    Hi All,

Sorry for cross-posting but I felt that I should rewrite this post again for clarity.

I created a table showing the n(%) of polio cases reported from 37 provinces/states in Nigeria between January to December 2017, by 7 different sources of data. Column A represents provinces/states, columns B to H represents sources of data, and column I represents row total for each province/state. I am also interested in showing these values as colour densities.

Is there a way I can do this in Stata v. 15?

    Kind regards,

    Aminu.

Why not post the data? Then people can make concrete suggestions.

      Hi Nick,

I dont want to share the data due to confidentiality agreement, which is why I described the variables hoping that interested contributors will understand and work on a dummy table, say of values (n) only to advise me so that I can give it a go in Stata. I want each cell in the table to represent a colour density or intensity which is equivalent to number value of the corresponding cell.

      Thanks for your understanding.

      Regards,

      Aminu.

So, please provide dummy data. FAQ Advice #12 already says

If your dataset is confidential, then provide a fake example instead.
You are expecting a lot for a very little if we have to do almost everything. For example, one variable is a name and one variable is a total, but I have no idea what source means in this context.
