For workflow reasons, I'd like to automate downloading of Google sheets and importing into Stata. But can't get the downloading to work.
Reproducible example:
Entering this URL into a browser downloads exactly what I want:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...rmat=csv&gid=0
Running this in Stata downloads useless HTML:
copy "https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1X3CYF796deiZmkivfA2ff5CgZI-JYEyq0AyX8W3S4Zo/export?format=csv&gid=0" 1930.csv
I'm guessing the URL triggers a download in a way that Stata doesn't. Any way around that?
