  • How to impute the dependent variable an independent variables?

    Dear all,

Recently I used multiple imputation to handle missing data, but my missingness occurs on both the dependent variables and independt variables, could I still use multiple imputation? If yes, how can I imputed denpendent variable? By the way, I apply the linear regression model.

    Look forward to your reply!

You can impute the dependent variable like any other variable. Remember the dependent variable in one part of the analysis might be independent in another. However, it may not be a good idea to use the imputed values when the variable is dependent. There is a very brief discussion on p. 10 of

paulvonhippel is an expert on this so maybe he can chime in if he is around.

      Dear Richard,

Thank you for the information! If in that case , any other methods you recommend for doing the sensitivity analysis when missingness occurs on both dependent and independent variable?
