  • Interpretation of coefficients in % or percentage points?

Been trying to interpret coefficients for my independent variable, however I have gotten a bit confused whether to interpret them as percent or percentage points, even though I have looked in textbooks and forums

My dependent variable (Y) is measured in % (0-100), and my independent variable (x) is also measured in % (0-100).

How would I interpret a coefficient of 0,5 for X?

That a 1 percent increase in X results in a 0,5 percent increase in Y, or, that a 1 percentage point increase in X results in a 0,5 percentage point increase in Y?

It is the second: percentage points.

    Best wishes,
