  • Keyboard shortcuts to switch between stata windows

    Hi,
Stata for mac allows you to switch between your do-file editor and the other stata windows (command, results etc), having assigned a keyboard shortcut to each of these. However, in Windows it seems the only keyboard shortcut that gives direct access to the do-file is ctr+9, which opens a new do-file editor ... but is their any way to access the do-file window in Windows without creating a new do-file? (besides the alt+tab function, which I find harder to navigate than just having a direct keyboard shortcut assigned to the stata windows). Hope you can help! any input is appreciated

Dig out this old post. Actually it's hard to switch between Stata's main window and do-file editor, and that's why I suggest to dock do-file editor in main window at Wishlist for Stata 16. At the mention of keyboard shortcuts (that's why I dig out this post), in Stata 16 the dofile editor implements autocompletion with "Enter" key (Hard Return). However, someone maybe like to use the "Space" key to autocomplete. Unfortunately, I haven't find how to change keyboard shortcuts in Windows as yet.
