Hi Statalists!
I was wondering if Stata can classify observations into sub markets based on geographical coordination system (latitude&longitude). I have got a dataset with latitude and longitude of each observations, on which I need to apply a market cluster definition. Supposing I could get the territories of each sub market, can I match them with the data via Stata? Which code/program should I adopt?
I had tried a simpler method of -merge- to merge observations with the submarkets based on zip codes, but unfortunately some of the submarket categories does not match the zip code system, hence the matching gets messy result... so I would appreciate a lot if anyone can kindly give any suggestion on that!
Kind Regards,
Mel
